I recently found a simple and very yummy recipe for homemade LaraBars. They are a great snack to have around, and contain minimal ingredients and are pretty good for you! I decided to make them today. Here's the recipe I was kind of following:
Peanut Butter LaraBars
1/2 C. chopped medjool dates
1/2 C. roasted peanuts
1/8 teaspoon salt
You can put these into molds for kids (like a silicone ice mold), or wrap them in wax paper in bar form.
Put into the food processor for 1 or 2 minutes, or until the raisins are cut up and the mixture sticks together.
These are seriously so good. There are so many recipes on the internet if you just google it. I used raisins in mine instead of dates. You can use different nuts and different dried fruits to adjust to your liking. You can add other ingredients too, like chocolate powder, oatmeal, and various seasonings. Here are a few good recipes.
Normal LaraBars cost about 2.50$ per bar! Pricey! These are not very expensive and are great for people who are doing diets or have allergies. (Dairy free, Kate!) Even my husband liked them!
